A Large, Interactive Trade Portal with Real-Time Conferencing Application

Marketplace Pty Ltd is a business to business trade portal dedicated to promoting Australian businesses in domestic and international markets. The aim of the site is to provide Australian businesses with a platform to showcase their products and services on the Internet. The portal includes special features like private mailboxes and chat applications as well as real-time audio and video conferencing.
The Problem
Security was a key issue for this project. It was important to ensure that all data be kept within the limits and constraints of Australian privacy policies.
The large, interactive nature of this website also posed logistical problems with conventional
hosting and required NETable to use a different approach.
The Solution
This project was a mammoth undertaking for NETable and we’re proud of our results. Here’s what we did:
- Used Web 2.0 styling to produce fast, SEO friendly pages and forms
- Produced Search Engine Optimised Pages for all important categories
- Created efficient site-search components
- Created dynamic listing categories with Google Maps to display business locations
- Utilised forums ‘livetrader chat’ application with video conferencing capacities
- Implemented forums for online trade discussions
The Result
By the end of the first year, the site is expected to see more than 22,000 registered businesses.
